Tractor Boys v Hatters

After a depleted team were comprehensively beaten by Everton in the Carling Cup in midweek, Luton hope to return to their recent good form in the league in front of Sky cameras at Portman Road this afternoon.

Luton's injury and illness worries are clearing up and Mike Newell will hope for almost a full squad to choose from.

Ipswich have injuries of their own and Luton will want to capitalise on this.

Luton are five points ahead of Ipswich who have lost their last two home matches, while Luton have won and drawn their last two away.

Wins yeaterday for Birmingham and Plymouth and a draw for Wolves saw Luton drop 3 places to eighth, while wins for Coventry and Colchester saw those teams draw level with the Hatters on points, so Mike Newell will want something out of this game today.

Ipswich Town Team News:

Both keepers are sidelined and Magilton has taken Jaroslav Drobny on trial to fill the gap. Sriker Jon Macken also misses out.Mark Noble is suspended. Billy Clarke may deputise for MaAcken.

Player to watch: Billy Clarke

Teenage superstar in the making, Clarke has the knack of being in the right place and scoring vital goals. Luton will need to keep a close eye on him and mark him tightly.

Luton Town Team News:

Mike Newell will wait to see if Markus Heikkinen recovers sufficiently from flu to return to the line-up while Sam Parkin could be in contention if his ankle has improved. Parkin would love to be involved after Ipswich lost faith in him after a long term injury, and will feel he has a point to prove.

Player to watch: Carlos Edwards

Has been on fire of late but was strangely subdued at Everton in midweek and will want to shake off that performance and return to his sparkling league form.

Match Facts & Stats

Match Prediction:

A tight encounter, but Luton to edge it 2-1.
