Luton aim to halt worst run in 12 years
Mike Newell on www.lutontown.co.uk:
'We happen to believe in what we're doing. If we were winning five or six on the bounce you wouldn't expect us to change it, so you don't change your beliefs just because you have had a few bad results.
'The things that become natural when things are going well all of a sudden become hard work. That's human nature and people will look to find excuses. You can't do that. You have to roll your sleeves up and get back to doing what you were doing when things were going well.
'We need to compete better and not give away the goals that we've given away. It's not the way we're playing, it's individual mistakes and a lack of competitiveness at times. That's what we've got to get back into our game.
'We're sure that will happen when certain personnel return and become available. It not only gives you options - certainly the option of putting those players in - it also gives the rest of them a gee-up.'
Soton boss George Burley told Saints' official website:
'We did well to take four points out of six and now we need to get six out of six at home to keep the momentum going.
'We are just two points off a play-off place and with two quickfire home games the aim has to be to be in the top six after them.
We are on a decent run, unbeaten in four matches with just one goal conceded in that time. We have not let in too many but lately we have not been scoring as many as we should have done given the possession and chances we have had.'
Inigo Idiakez will be missing with a thigh strain, but striker Kenwyne Jones looks set to return after recovering from an ankle injury picked up at Sunderland.
Gareth Bale did not train until late in the week after an ankle injury, but should be fit to face Luton. The game comes too early for the returning to fitness David Prutton who came through 90 minutes for the Reserves in midweek.
The way Luton concede free kicks outside the penalty area, he could be in his element.
No new injury worries but Rowan Vine is suspended, leaving Adam Boyd and Warren Feeney as the only two strikers fit and eligible to play. Russ Perrett should continue alongside Leon Barnett in central defence, and Mike Newell may shake up the midfield. Loan signing keeper Dean Kiely may make his debut in place of the out of form Marlon Beresford.
Coming into a bit of form and fitness and will show why he was bought.
Daren't even go there!
