Luton's next visitors are Cardiff City who started the season well but have recently been on a poor run which is only eclipsed by Luton's recent poor run!
Cardiff look to end a run of 9 games without a win, although like Luton, their recent performances have been better without always getting the results they have deserved.
Luton ended a run of three straight home defeats by beating Preston, drawing with Southend and then beating Coventry, and have been looking much better home and away.
However, with both teams suffering serious depletion through injury, it is a difficult game to predict.
At Ninian Park earlier in the season Cardiff were flttered by a 4-1 scoreline over the 10 men Hatters after Lewis Emanuel was sent off for handball on the line although TV pictures seemed to indicate that there was no intent by the player.
Having already lost Brkovic, Robinson and Bell who are still rated doubtful for this match, Luton lost the services of Markus Heikkinen with a serious leg injury, which has fortunately turned not to be a compound leg fracture, and Lewis Emanuel with a tweaked knee.
Richard Langley will be hoping to be selected against his old club.
Luton's 2006 goal machine will look to start the new year with a hat trick! You heard it here first!
Cardiff City may still be without Paul Parry who missed the 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace, and Michael Chopra who picked up an injury in the Palace game. Willo Flood will probably continue to deputise should Parry not make it.
If Chopra is unfit, Kevin Campbell should come in.
Jamal Easter could make his league debut for the Bluebirds.
Gave us a hard time at Ninian Park.
Luton V Cardiff at Kenilworth Road
Luton Town won 15 - 55.56% Cardiff City won 3 - 11.11% Drawn 9 - 33.33%
Goals Tally:
Luton Town 72 - 2.67 ave per game
Cardiff City 29 - 1.07 ave per game
Alan Wiley Staffordshire - However he pulled out of his last game through injury and may not yet be fit. Also, one of the assistants listed is S Artis from Norfolk who was the man who awarded Fulham the last minute free kick which led to their equaliser over Charlton then admitted that he had flagged the wrong way by accident. There is a possibility that he may be stood down from the match as a result of that serious error.
Very difficult to predict in view of both sides possibly being seriously depleted but after their excellent performance at top of the league Birmingham I'm going for a 1-0 win to the Town.
