Luton v Port Vale preview

Things have not exactly gone to plan for Kevin Blackwell, with four defeats out of six league games,and he will be looking for some of the good approach p-lay shown by the Town to be turned into goals and points, starting with today's visit of Port Vale.

'The players have been doing well, and I can have no complaints on their work and dedication, but we are where we are in the League and need to do something about it.

'We just need that extra punch up front. We spoke and worked all week about getting crosses into the box and getting shots away.

'We are talking about that extra inch in both boxes. We could have been easily in the top half of the League but that is the way football goes.

'However sometimes you have to experience the downturns to appreciate the upturns.

'I think we have got to turn our domination of games into wins.'

Always seems to be part of Luton's best moves, and could kick in with a goal of his own

Vale have no major injury doubts but Marc Richards' is a slight doubt with a thigh strain. Manager Martin Foyle may give his side a shake up after a slow satrt to the season.

On-loan defender Keith Lowe may miss out in favour of Mark McGregor, and right-back Justin Miller should be fit again after a training ground injury.
